2025 ‘An introduction to Teaching Council ITE processes’ Symposium
We warmly welcome ITE providers to join us online for a 'Meet and Greet' opportunity to understand the ITE services offered by the Teaching Council and meet Council staff. Over the summer break you may see new heads of school, programme leads, and admission managers come onboard. To support these new staff, we will introduce them to:
- other ITE providers and Teaching Council staff
- the ITE portal process - including language and academic entry exemptions, minor and major programme changes, and uploading an application for a new programme or ITE programme review
- key information sources for ITE staff - including newsletters and symposia
- the ITE admin address
- student teacher and graduate talks
- approval, monitoring, annual reporting, moderation, and review processes.
- new requirements, KTT, and entry requirements.
We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday 18 February.
Language Competency Symposium
The Teaching Council invites ITE providers to attend a 45 minute symposium dedicated to supporting high-quality exemption applications for language competency, as determined by the Language Competency Policy.
This symposium will be of special benefit to those provider staff who are responsible for:
- determining which ITE applicants warrant a Teaching Council exemption request
- writing an effective application for submission through the ITE portal.
The symposium will be presented by Teaching Council staff and will include opportunities for provider staff to ask questions.
The symposium will also include details of the 2024 amendments to the Language Competency Policy specifically relating to applicants from a Pacific Islands schooling background.
