Since we made the move to our online application system, Hapori Matatū, together with the help of teachers we’ve eliminated the equivalent of 110,000 envelopes and a million sheets of A4 paper which equates to collectively reducing our carbon footprint by around 60,000 kg of CO2.

With Hapori Matatū being three years old now, we’ve given it a fresh new look for renewal applications. We’ve streamlined the process after responding to teacher’s requests. The new enhancements reduce the number of overall clicks needed and new collapsible screens mean that there’s less scrolling through pages needed while more targeted, relevant questions display. The cleaner layout makes for a faster, more user-friendly application experience overall.

If you have any questions about renewing your practising certificate, or using Hapori Matatū in general, please don’t hesitate to message us at enquiries@teachingcouncil.nz or you can ask Miromiro, our website’s chatbot, who is available 24-7 on the bottom right of your screen on any page on our website.
