Supporting Pacific bilingual and immersion pathways
22 September 2023
In the first quarter of 2024, the Teaching Council will consult with the teaching profession, key stakeholders and peak bodies, and communities on proposed changes to our language competency policy requirements for entry into initial teacher education and for registration as a teacher. The major focus for any proposed changes will be supporting Pacific bilingual and immersion pathways across our education system.
The short video below gives a little more context for this piece of work.
Focus groups will be held online or in person and each session will be scheduled for two hours (online) or three hours (in-person).
If you and/or other colleagues would like to participate in a focus group, please fill out the form at the link below that outlines your preferences for dates and times to attend.
