Email to profession

Kia ora koutou

Firstly, apologies for the number of emails sent over the last few days, we’re certainly not trying to clutter inboxes at the end of the term, but we have important information regarding your practising certificates and the judicial review.

Our main priority is to ensure teachers have valid practising certificates.

From Monday 12 July practising certificates will be issued for three years. For now, we will only ask teachers to pay the fees as they were prior to February 1, 2021, while we work through the issues about the new fees. For teachers renewing their practising certificate, this will mean a payment of $220.80. For those teachers who already hold an annual practising certificate we will issue them a three-year practising certificate. We may invoice for a top-up amount later.

In order to do this work, we’ll need to do maintenance on our online system, Hapori Matatū | Online Community, which will go down on Sunday 11 July at 5pm and be back online Monday 12 July at 8am.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for those wishing to access their information, or other functions on Hapori Matatū, such as the chat and conversation areas.

Again, we'll continue to stay in touch with you when there is more information. As teachers and professional leaders, you are our priority, and we want to ensure you are not inconvenienced as we implement these changes.

Thank you for your patience.
