We are heading into an exciting time of the year - student teachers are completing their qualifications and applying for registration and their first practising certificate, Tōmua | Provisional certificated teachers are completing their induction and mentoring programmes and applying for Tūturu | Full certificates, and we are still processing renewals. Our teams will be dealing with a large volume of enquiries and applications over the next few months, so here are some quick tips as we head into this busy period: 

 

  • Check your practising certificate expiry date - you can submit an application to renew your practising certificate any time from three months prior to your expiry. If your practising certificate expires early next year, you may wish to submit it before the end of the year before your professional leader and delegated authorisers go on leave. 
  • Information on how to obtain an Education Sector Logon (ESL) is available on our website. If you have forgotten your username or passphrase, click the links for retrieving your username or passphrase, or by talking to your delegated authoriser or the Ministry of Education Service Desk.

  • Aratohu Kaiohia | Endorser Guidelines provide direction to tumuaki, principals, and professional leaders about what is required when they endorse an application to renew a practising certificate.
