A new digital home for teachers

The Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand has launched a new website, alongside a new teacher portal called ‘My Rawa’ – a simplified, intuitive digital home designed for teachers. Named after the Māori word rawa, meaning abundance and capability, My Rawa is here to help teachers grow, lead, and thrive as a kaiako in Aotearoa  

My Rawa brings the Teaching Council’s tools and processes together in one trusted space, making it easier for teachers to manage their professional journey – from renewing practising certificates to accessing guidance and professional learning. It’s part of the Teaching Council’s ongoing commitment to creating a modern, supportive experience that values teachers’ time and professionalism. 

Teachers give so much to learners, whānau, and communities. They deserve digital tools that respect their time, simplify the essentials, and support their mahi. My Rawa is about giving teachers confidence that the essentials are easy to find and manage, all in one place.  

A smarter way to connect 

With My Rawa, teachers can now access all Teaching Council services with a single, secure login. The new platform also introduces a better digital practising certificate card, which can be saved to teacher's digital wallets on their phones.  

The website itself has been redesigned with clearer navigation, improved search, and mobile-friendly access – ensuring teachers can connect anytime, from anywhere. 

Designed for teachers, backed by support 

Teachers will receive an email invitation to log in for the first time with simple step-by-step instructions. A first-time login demo is also available on the Council’s website.
