Unteach Racism
Empowering teachers to address racism so that every ākonga thrives.
What is Unteach Racism?
Unteach Racism is an initiative of the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. It is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi which ensures belonging for all. Unteach Racism empowers teachers to create spaces where every ākonga feels valued and connected, while noticing bias, challenging inequity, and fostering culturally sustaining practices - helping remove barriers so all learners can stand confidently in their identity and thrive.
School Leader Stories
Frankley School actively questioned what could be done to further support Māori ākonga to reach their full potential. The story is one that includes many voices in the community.
