How to log into My Rawa for the first time as a New LAT

If you are applying for your first Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) or are a LAT holder who has never submitted an online application via Hapori Matatū, use this guide to find out how to log into our new teacher portal, My Rawa, for the first time.

Steps to log in as a new LAT

To begin using the teacher portal, My Rawa, new LAT holders or previous LAT holders who have never submitted an online application will need the help of their Delegated Authoriser (DA) before they can log into the portal.

The LAT will need to be set up with an Education Sector Login (ESL) and have a LAT Role assigned to them in Hapori Matatū.  From there, they can activate their Teaching Council account and get access to the portal, My Rawa.

Follow the steps below.

For the Delegated Authoriser

  • If the teacher already has an ESL account, simply add the LAT role to their existing account.
  • If the teacher does not have an ESL account, you will need to send an invitation email with the Hapori Matatū LAT role assigned to it.

For LAT holders with no ESL account

Set up your ESL login

1.You will receive an email invitation from your Delegated Authoriser at your school. Accept this invitation to set up your ESL by opening the link, then continue to follow the steps to set up your ESL username and passphrase.

2.A page will pop up with your details. You can continue to set up your Teaching Council user account.
