Working in a Māori medium setting
E ngā mana, e ngā reo, e ngā kaitiaki o ngā taonga tuku iho a ngā tūpuna, tēnā koutou katoa i runga o te mihi mahana.
The Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand | Matatū Aotearoa is the professional body for all registered teachers, including kaiako and pouako in Māori medium settings including kura kaupapa Māori, kōhanga reo and puna reo and other related education institutions.
As a teacher in a Māori medium setting you are key to keeping te reo Māori alive in Aotearoa. The Council supports you and the aspirations of whānau, hapū and iwi Māori who want their tamariki and mokopuna to experience quality learning through the language of their tūpuna
