Element E requires leaders to confirm annual participation in the PGC and provide statements on meeting the Standards.

Element E of the professional growth cycle asks that:
Principals and professional leaders will confirm annually that each teacher has participated in the annual cycle and will also provide a statement to the teacher about whether they meet (Tūturu: Full Practising Certificate) or likely to meet (Pūmau: Subject to Confirmation) the Standards or Paerewa (but with no requirement to create evidential documents).1
There are two key things to confirm in Element E. The first is that the teacher has participated in a professional growth cycle in that year.
The second is that they meet the Standards for the Teaching Profession, according to the requirements of their practising certificate. You can read more about how to make endorsement decisions in the Endorser Guidelines. These are updated on a regular basis, so it’s a good idea to check to see if they have been updated.
Note too that there is no requirement to create evidential documents; the footnote refers to how a PGC utilises naturally occurring evidence for decisions around annual statements and endorsements. The activities we gave our leaders focused on how this naturally occurring evidence can lead to an annual summary statement. There is also more discussion about this in the section on Element A.
