Position Description - Project Coordinator Māori Medium

The Teaching Council is an independent statutory body, with both a professional and regulatory role. We work to enable and support leadership by the teaching profession to maximise the success of every learner in Aotearoa, and to build the public’s confidence in teachers.

The Roles:

These are great opportunities for someone interested developing a career in project management or enhancing their existing administration and customer service expertise. 

The roles involve diary management and confidential support to the Managers. In addition, you will provide project coordination functions including the preparation of project reports, project board minutes and actions, risk registers, and liaising with project managers across a range of projects.

You’ll thrive working at pace and accurately to tight deadlines and will be able to work effectively with a wide range of people whilst ensuring a high level of discretion. You’ll have the capacity to learn fast and work well in a team. If you have te reo and/ or a Pasifika language ability this will be considered favourably as these skills are highly valued at the Council.

We will support you to gain the necessary skills and experience to do well in this role.  We will also support you with career progression through project co-ordination or other suitable education sector roles, depending upon your interest and skills.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to demonstrate:

-          Energy and resilience with the ability to demonstrate good judgement.

-          Computer literate, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint to a high level.

-          Strong time management and organisational skills.

-          The ability to work effectively in a diverse workplace with strong commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.

-          Knowledge and experience of Government and/or public sector along with a passion for the Education Sector is desirable.
